About The Angel’s Share

The Angels Share began in early 2016 after lifelong pals John and Stephen began daydreaming one night over a couple of drinks down the local. The next morning we awoke to the realisation that we had, indeed, bought that horse trailer in Great Yarmouth on eBay with the intention of turning it into a mobile bar. A few months later and we were working at our first event and dreaming of what the future might hold.

At the same time John had just become a Dad, so any idea of travelling up and down the country spending time away from home working at festivals, weddings etc while mum stayed at home with bubba were put on hold, so, we kept things local and did our best to slowly build the business. After a couple of years Stephen left the business to concentrate on his full time job and John’s brother Dan came on-board. This means we are now a family business and Mum and Dad are ‘so proud of their 2 boys’

Having worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years, John is keenly aware of the amount of waste the industry can create, therefore, where possible we try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The plastic beakers we use at festivals are compostable; we do not use plastic straws and we recycle as much of our waste as we can, taking it back home with us if an event does not supply us with the means to recycle properly on site. We always try and stock products local to an event we work at and if possible we use local market traders for any fruit for garnishes

The Angel’s Share is a proper gem! This immaculate specialist gin bar is a feast for the eyes. Beautifully restored and adapted to serve delectable Yorkshire sourced gins at The Great Yorkshire Fringe Festival last month, they were a true highlight of the festival.
John, Steve and their team are welcoming and warm to customers and festival staff alike, accommodating and generous with their time, smiles and gin samples. Proper team players, these guys are da bomb!
As producer of the festival, I would highly recommend this dedicated and vibrant small business to anyone who is thinking about offering a hint of class with a down to earth attitude at their event, private or public.

Quite apart from the obviously well researched menu, these genuine and professional guys are exactly the type of concession you would welcome to any event, whether you are organising it or a paying customer. Effortlessly cool and ultimately flexible I would pay serious money to have these fellas parked in the middle of my work place all year round.
Thanks dudes, for all you’re hard work and… Well, all the gin!

Barry Benson, York

I can’t speak more highly of these guys. They have worked a couple of events for me now, professional, organised, helpful and friendly. I will definitely be using them again. I wasn’t expecting the bar to be tailored to my events, so whether you need a spirits heavy bar or simple beer and pop, they were able to adapt and adjust.
Book em!

Steve, Haxby
